Sign of the open air museum

Rischmannshof is one of the eldest open air museums in Germany (since 1912) with noteworthy courtyards, adjoining buildings and side buildings like for instance:

  • Two storey lower Saxon house from 1798 with typical rustic equipment of the 18th and 19th century; historical exhibition; "Löns-room"
  • "Häuslingshaus" with a research department for the towns and regional history
  • Storage house from 1669, which also includes a beekeepers museum
  • Bakery from 1752
  • Half-timbered barn from 1842, which includes a smithy, a shoe-makers workshop and a joinery
  • Typical farmers garden, sand stone well and bee hive

  • Village school in Klein Eilstorf (1900)
  • Historical sheep barn in Krelingen (19. century)
  • Transformer tower in Idsingen (1916)
